If your mains water supply is interrupted, put your Water Softener on bypass.
If you water supply to your property is interrupted for any reason, its a good idea to put your Water Softener on bypass.
Depending upon the reason for the interruption in supply, this can sometimes cause small amounts of debris to be flushed though the pipes. In addition, the water supplier may well chlorinate the system to disinfect which can cause higher levels of chlorine then normal in the water supply.
Both of these can potentially cause damage to your Water Softener.
Once your supply has returned to normal, leave it 12 hours and then put your water Softener back into service.
